Looking for a OmeTV alternative? Browser-first, no download needed.
If you are looking at OmeTV alternatives, the question is usually whether you need to install anything at all. Shedo Chat runs in an ordinary mobile or desktop browser, and there is also an Android app if you prefer one. Shedo Chat is an independent random video chat platform. It has no affiliation, partnership or endorsement relationship with OmeTV, and OmeTV is a trademark of its respective owner, referenced here only so you can compare.
Nothing to install
Open the site, allow camera and microphone, and press start. There is no download step and no account gate before your first conversation, which matters most when you are trying a platform out for the first time.
- Works in Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox
- Optional Android app for people who prefer an icon on their home screen
- The same account and Premium status across both
How matching is organised
You join a queue and are paired one-on-one. Adding interests steers the queue towards people who picked something similar, so conversations start with a subject rather than silence.
Controls before the camera goes live
Camera blur and a face effect can both be chosen before you enter the queue, so the first thing a stranger sees is already the version of you that you picked. Your effect is remembered for next time.
In-call text chat
A text panel sits beside the video for spelling out a name, sharing a link, or continuing when you are somewhere noisy. It never disconnects the call.
What Premium changes
Premium adds matching preferences such as country and removes the daily limit on the in-call games. Ordinary video chat, skipping, blur and effects stay free.
