Looking for a UMingle alternative? Privacy controls.
If you are comparing UMingle alternatives with privacy in mind, the useful question is how much you have to reveal and how quickly you can take it back. Here is Shedo Chat's answer. Shedo Chat is an independent random video chat platform. It has no affiliation, partnership or endorsement relationship with UMingle, and UMingle is a trademark of its respective owner, referenced here only so you can compare.
How little you have to give
No account, no email and no payment details are needed for random video chat. There is no public profile to fill in.
Blur as a real control
Blur applies a strong real-time blur to your own feed while the call stays connected and your video stays live. The other person sees a blurred picture, not a black screen, and you can switch it off instantly.
Effects as a second layer
A face mask or effect changes what is recognisable about you while still letting the conversation feel live. Effects and blur can be used together.
Ending and reporting
Skip, stop, report and block are always one tap away, and blocking asks for confirmation so you never do it by mistake.
What is stored
Calls are peer-to-peer and media is not stored on our servers. Private messages, if you use them, are removed from our servers automatically after 60 days, and photos and videos after 7 days.
